We are very pleased you have chosen to use our business in New Plymouth.
 
We understand that all businesses create environmental and social impact through their activities. Ours is no exception, Lockwood Manor Motel is actively trying to reduce any adverse effects through buying wisely, using resources efficiently, disposing of waste responsibly and providing an environmentally and socially responsible service to our guests.
 
We undertake to:
 
• Save Energy by
 
Turning of lights or equipment when not needed (or when we leave the room) you may wish to do the same.
 
Using Energy efficient timers on exterior lighting and under floor heating.
 
Replacing light bulbs where appropriate, with energy efficient bulbs.
 
Using Flat screen TV’S which use significantly less energy.
 
We have lined curtains and double glazing which keeps in the heat.

Using energy Efficient Heat Pumps.

Giving you the opportunity to recycle.
 
Reducing the amount of waste going to the landfill by separating it for recycling
 
We have refillable soap dispensers
 
Only printing necessary emails
 
• Save water by
 
Giving you the opportunity to reuse your towel to save on water and energy
 
Making sure we have no dripping taps
 
• Reducing Pollution by
 
Using natural toiletry product, Basic Earth products and Ecolab toilet tissue
 
We purchase locally when possible which reduces emissions from transport
 
We donate surplus goods and furniture to the Salvation Army and Hospice
 
 
Most of our guests want to help, so we invite you to join with us by enjoying our hospitality services and understanding our environmental policy.
